Liverpool legend-turned-pundit Michael Owen has hailed Mohamed Salah following a strong start to his Premier League career with the Reds. The Egypt international has been a revelation for the Merseyside outfit this term, contributing eight goals and two assists for Liverpool across all competitions.

Speaking to BT Sport, Owen spoke fondly about the former Roma man, who has created numerous chances for the Reds in a short space of time, he told BT Sport: "It’s been a brilliant start. Liverpool are so well blessed. They have pace either side. I can’t believe how many chances he makes. He isn’t an unbelievable finisher but he gets so many chances every game, his numbers are totting up. He is nearly in double figures already. It’s brilliant for a wide man. He already looks a brilliant signing."
There were initial doubts where Mohamed Salah would feature in the Reds line-up, but Jurgen Klopp has managed to find himself a regular role on the right wing with the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane sustaining injuries in the early part of the campaign.
Whilst Coutinho has returned to first-team contention, Mane is still out with a hamstring problem, and he may not feature for the Reds until after the international break. Klopp's men are presently positioned eighth in the Premier League standings with just 13 points, but the German will hope to see an improvement in the coming games after they secured a resounding 7-0 Champions League win over Maribor in midweek.
Liverpool have secured back-to-back clean sheets in the top-flight this month, but they face a stiffer challenge this weekend with a testing trip to Tottenham Hotspur. The north London outfit are presently vying for the Premier League title in third spot, and they are likely to pose a significant threat to the Reds backline with Harry Kane - hitting the target at will this season.
