Liverpool Stays Strong With Transfers

Emre Can, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Suso are all the players that Brendan Rodgers has so far managed to sign and bring into Anfield Road in this summer transfer window. All of which are considered to be very good performers and supporters of Liverpool are beginning to believe that the Premier League club can make a genuine charge for the league title in next season and one of those supporters is the former Liverpool player, Michael Owen.

Michael Owen made over 200 appearances for Liverpool some years ago and even though he retired from playing professional competitive football, he still remains up to date with news around the sport as he is a regular pundit or teacher giving coverage on television and radio about the world of football.

Liverpool has spent £25m on Adam Lallana and £4m on Rickie Lambert from Southampton. They have also splashed out £10m on Emre Can and are set to unveil £20m Lazar Markovic from Benfica.

Owen said: "Lallana and Lambert were fantastic last year for Southampton and are proven in the Premier League. You would think Lambert will get his fair share of games now because Liverpool is in the Champions League. There are going to be four competitions to be playing in and lots of games’’.

‘’You've just got to love it; you've got to smile when you see the smile on his face. Playing for a team like Liverpool, that he's supported all of his life, it's a great story. I hope Rickie has a good season. Lallana could be a star. He has done fantastically well, has great feet and lovely balance. I'm really looking forward to seeing him in the Liverpool shirt. They are two good buys."

Liverpool lost the Premier League race against Manchester City during the previous season as they fell short by 2 points but with the additions of these new players Brendan Rodgers and the former Liverpool player Michael Owen are expecting the squad to reach new heights in the next campaign.
