Paul Scholes believes Manchester United need summer signings

The Premier League race has already finished as Leicester City came out on top and were crowned as the champions of England but the season still has not finished as there are teams which are competing trying to gather as many points as possible in order to avoid the bottom relegation zone while there are others that are attempting to snatch a Champions League spot or a Europa League one.

Manchester United still have a chance to snatch a Champions League position but even if they do manage to achieve this mission, this season still appears to be an underwhelming one for Louis van Gaal and his team as they were knocked out from the League Cup and from the Europa League.

The only piece of silverware that Manchester United can lift in this season is the FA Cup but they will have to overcome Crystal Palace in the finals on May 21st.

£250m is how much Manchester United has spent since Louis van Gaal arrived to Old Trafford and took charge of the team and being only able to win the FA Cup after offloading so much cash is fairly disappointing.

According to the former Manchester United player, Paul Scholes believes that in order for them to get back into winning ways and start lifting major competitions, what they need to do is spend even more cash.

"They need to spend some more money. I think they need a top centre forward, a centre half and possibly a bit of creativity in midfield. I don't think there's need for eight, nine or 10 players or anything like that. I’d like Luka Modric. How old is he now? Might be a bit too old, but he’s a great player. I like Raphael Varane. I said realistic and I’m picking Real Madrid players? We probably need a centre forward but there’s not too many of them about so I’m going to say I’d like us to bring Paul Pogba back. I just think two, three, four players maybe at most just to bring some real quality to the team." Paul Scholes said as he talked about some players that he would like to see Manchester United sign during the approaching summer transfer window.
