Arsenal with five points have found a place at the top of the Premier League table following 12 wins in 14 games and they are still the league leaders for the first time in 15 years at Christmas.

The squad has managed to extend their lead at the top of the table on Premier League’s final weekend before the World Cup 2022 in Qatar began. Manchester City is the closest rival as they were unable to keep the game to just two points after they lost 2-1 to Brentford earlier in the day.
Surely, Mikel Arteta’s team had the best start to the Premier League season but now they have to wait for four more weeks to return to action against West Ham. Even though they are at the top of the table and suffering a single defeat, Arsenal is still the favorite of many pundits for the title.
As Arteta dials down the excitement around the potential first title since 2004, Michael Owen, the former Liverpool striker has admitted to taking Arsenal more seriously after their incredible start to the season. However, he still believes that the team of Pep Guardiola is going to remain the favorite.
Owen said that the Gunners have secured their place at the top and many people are thinking that the team is a real deal now. Owen said that it has crept on them and they have been improving over the last few years. But the improvement this season has been incredible.
Even though he feels that Manchester City are the favorites to win the present season, their defeat at Brentford has given some teams a little gee to a certain extent who might have otherwise thought that they are out of the league.
